A place where the child started discovering of the world, where the child found first friends, where the child learnt riding a bike, where the child started nursery and school. Once I have experienced an experiment in a scope of self-management workshop about life-loses. It was at my previous work. We have met in a circle. Under the instructions of lecturers, we have defined what things come around when you say “home”. Imagine psychologists and lawyers, buddies in their thirties, thinking deeply. There appeared things like Wrigley´s, toys, sandbox, Mum, doggie, annoying sister, beds in joint bedroom, friends, after-school teacher, garden, playground behind the house, etc. These things were written on pieces of papers and these were added to strings. I was playing a small girl, holding the strings. Each colleague was holding once piece of the paper. And, Destiny came around and cut the strings off. You are quite fine when the after-school teacher gets out, but when your bed leave, it is bad. The strings were repaired by the colleagues, and Destiny appeared again and cut the strings off again. I can only confirm that you do not want the cut-off to be done third time and you start to get used to living alone.
In respect of leaving the country, the child comes to absolutely different culture, to new classroom, he or she has to understand many new things, including language of the country. Moreover, he or she leaves behind the own history and second part of the own family.
If you are thinking about moving abroad, or you know that you have to make this, please try to prepare the child for the change as much as you can.
